Check out the full results from the Orb’s week 6 picks linked here!
The Orb had a perfect start to week 7 as our models predicted Denver to win and cover the 2.5 points as road favorites in New Orleans last night. This results in a +1.567 unit start to the week and more importantly, extends our winning streak of premium non-Sunday picks to 7 in a row! The same models make picks for the free Sunday slate as well as the premium games so I can’t point to a specific reason why the Orb is performing so well in the stand-alone games. But based on the happy texts and notes I keep getting from our paid subscribers, they don’t seem to care for the explanation. I wish I had a better answer to the recent phenomenon but I am glad that we are keeping our favorite readers happy. Thursday’s win brings our season total to 20-11, 64.5% against the spread heading into Sunday.
Favorites dominated last week which resulted in Vegas losing big. While my antennas are up and I think we might be in for some weird results, the Orb predicts more of the same for Sunday. All but one of the model’s picks for Sunday are on the favorite to cover while all three models curiously like some of the data they see out of Dolphins as they are getting points on the road in Indianapolis. We then have a doubleheader on Monday night in which our models have unanimous picks on the spread and moneyline outcomes of both games. Paid subscribers, be on the lookout for these picks Monday morning as the Orb is getting greedy and going for its 8th and 9th premium spread wins in a row. Here is what the Orb predicts will happen on Sunday:
Spread:
Broncos -2.5 (TNF - Premium) ✅
Falcons -3
Packers -2.5
Dolphins +3
49ers -1.5
Ravens/Buccaneers (MNF - Premium)
Chargers/Cardinals (MNF - Premium)
Moneyline:
Broncos (TNF - Premium) ✅
Jaguars
Bengals
Vikings
Falcons
Packers
Bills
Colts
Commanders
Rams
49ers
Ravens/Buccaneers (MNF - Premium)
Chargers/Cardinals (MNF - Premium)
Just because the Orb likes more favorites than underdogs this week doesn’t mean we are with the public and going against Vegas. Here are the betting splits of the picks our models have Sunday via sportsbettingdime:
Falcons -3: 44% of the tickets and 24% of the money.
Packers -2.5: 27% of the tickets and 16% of the money.
Dolphins +3: 50% of the tickets and 31% of the money.
49ers -1.5: 18% of the tickets and 32% of the money.
If the Orb wins this week, so does the house. Of course, this isn’t a guarantee of anything, but after the public got such a big win last week, I feel better knowing we are on Vegas’ side in week 7.
