Week 11 Updates and Picks
We are using this week's newsletter to update you guys on a few housekeeping items at the Orb:
1. The first thing is that we are temporarily suspending Thursday night football picks and focusing on the main Sunday/Money games. Thursday night football is an ungovernable, unpredictable waste land owned and operated by Jeff Bezos aka Tony Packages. Looking back at our records, the removal of TNF would have increased our hit rate by multiple percentage points across all three picks. Another component of this decision is that lines change dramatically and more information is available closer to kickoff, after we have already released our picks on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. A perfect example of this happened just yesterday, when they (cowardly) moved the Bills-Browns game from Buffalo to Detroit due to a little snow. Moving forward, you can expect these picks to be sent out later in the week, closer to Sunday kickoff.
2. We have been working to create a centralized community. We have been looking for the right platform to host all our content, including these weekly newsletters as well as future additional content (including but not limited to memes). After research and testing, we have decided on the hosting server Substack as our community home. What does this mean for you? Simply that these weekly newsletters, including our picks, will be sent directly from our page, rather than this email. With the introduction of our substack page, you are more than welcome to share the fun with friends.
Week 10 saw the inverse of our last few weeks, with totals outpreforming moneyline and spreads, which cooled off after their hot streaks. Week 10 was also the end of a three week +unit streak of our games of the week going 55% or better. We don't hide from our losers:
