I would like to start this off by formally thanking the Orlando Magic for their efforts in the first round. A HEROIC cover of the +1.5 series spread against the Cavaliers, with 2 units on it, saved us from falling into the red. That’s right, after 12 picks in these playoffs your favorite navigator of vibes is +0.14 units. And you know what, we will take it. But I did not join the orb to hover around even, I came here to help you good people bankrupt your favorite sports books. I spent all week making tweaks to my calibrator and am ready to provide you folks with some winners.
Oklahoma City Thunder +2.5 (-112) - We’re going to go ahead and grab the points with the 1-seed in the West. Coming off of a loss, I believe in this Thunder team to maintain its composure and come out strong. The Mavericks looked fantastic in game 2 but Luka is clearly still hobbled. And unless he took a quick trip to Germany for one of those mystery knee operations Kobe Bryant had, I think he will continue to labor throughout this round. Look for a big game from Chet, bouncing back from a poor performance in their last game. SGA needs some help and he gets it today.
Boston Celtics -7.5 (-108) - For the first time in these playoffs we are going to dip our toes into a Celtics game. Perhaps the most confusing 64-win team ever? Coming off of a 20-point loss at home against the Cavaliers, one might ask why I would feel confident laying this many points. It’s simple, this Celtics team seems to need these public embarrassments in order to remember that they are playing against NBA players. I am not going to overreact to one bad game from this team who had their conference wrapped up a month and a half before the regular season ended. This same thing happened against the Heat last round and I assure you, if you can lose to a team led by Jaime Jacquez and Tyler Herro, you can lose to anyone. Celtics will roll tonight, lay the points. The game will be over in the third quarter.
New York Knicks +6 (-112) - I’m going to be honest here. My vibe calibrator doesn’t understand this Knicks team. A team missing half of its rotation players, led by a chubby 6'1 point guard and a 6’4 power forward playing 48 minutes per game is leading a second-round playoff series. It makes no sense, until you watch them. They have captured the hearts of New Yorkers and if the city didn’t have the most insufferable fanbase in America we’d all be rooting for them. A true Cinderella story as they lose a new player to injury each game, Jalen Brunson puts the DOG in underdog. The logic here is simple. The Knicks, even when they lose, are always in close games. That and the Pacers half-court offense, or lack thereof, leads me to believe we’re in for another close game tonight. This Knicks team is a joy to watch, take the points, and watch the little guy lead you to a winner.
The comeback starts today. Buckle up. The vibes are BACK.
Happy betting (responsibly),
