Orb Faithful,
Hello and happy NFL Week 2! As we dive into the second week of the season, I thought I'd give fantasy football content a shot, especially since, believe it or not, my team is already a dumpster fire. Hand up… I bought into the Jordan Love and Christian Watson hype this offseason, and now I’m scrambling to cover my bases for the next 4-6 weeks with Love being ruled out. Why do I care so much about fantasy football? Because there is no better start to your work week then beating one of your old high school buddies in Fantasy. It very well COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE - let me tell you…
In all honesty, fantasy football is one of the most unpredictable games out there, and anyone claiming they know how to draft a winning team is lying to your face. Another confession? I don’t watch college football, keeping up with the rookie class is a losing battle. Sure, you might recognize a Heisman winner or research a first-round pick, but finding those sleeper league-winners? That’s next-level digging. Real life.
Alright so now that I have watched my one Fantasy Football video on YouTube and took in what I saw over the weekend here are a couple of viable options that could potentially be the difference in a win or loss this up coming Sunday:
RB Jordan Mason - SF 49ers
Who? I’m with you, I also have never heard of this guy until last night. With a surprising last minute ruling of Christian McCaffrey out - it was the Jordan Mason show for the Niners.
28 Carries
147 Rushing Yards
1 TD
22.2 Fantasy Football points
Insane. What a night for the young man. Unfortunately he is already rostered in my league but he is most likely still available in yours. Who knows if CMC is going to play this week. What a garbage call by the Niners to ice him what felt like moments before MNF. I can’t imagine how much money Vegas made off of auto loss slips with CMC prop bets. Cowards.
TE Isiah Likely - BAL Ravens
Only rostered in 10.2% of Fantasy leagues (I’m guessing thats the last time you will be able to say that) Likely had a monster game and almost sent the Ravens Chiefs game into overtime on the season kickoff opener. Also he is not afraid to talk some shit towards Mahomes and company even after losing. It would be a SHAME to see his words come back and bite him. A real shame. Otherwise great pick up and could be a league winner if the rest of the TEs are going to look as bad as they did week 1.
QB Sam Darnold - MIN Vikings
Sammy had himself a game, no doubt about it. But I’m not going to dive headfirst into the hype that’s bound to follow after his showing against the Giants. That said, if you’re in a tough spot and he’s lined up to face one of the many awful teams in the NFL, he’s absolutely worth a pickup and a start.
QB Baker Mayfield - TB Buccaneers
D1 all vibes! Baker was cooking against the commanders on Sunday. Golly! Him and Mike Evans look like they have a wonderful relationship, and Chris Goodwin is an elite route runner. Each Evans and Goodwin could catch a minimum of 6 balls a week and thats good news for Baker Mayfield. Look for Baker if your down a starting QB like I am. Great for vibes, great for Baker.
