Our hot streak to start the playoffs ended Thursday as the model went 0-2 on its prediction. It was a tough beat in Detroit as they lost by 2 and missed the cover by 0.5 points. They now find themselves facing elimination, down 1-3 to the Knicks after losing back-to-back games by a combined 3 points. In the other game our model made a pick on, the Thunder impressively rallied back down 29 points to win the game, but only by single digits, so they too did not cover. Ja’s injury unfortunately was the big turning point, as the Grizzlies showed a lot of fight and were beating the Thunder in a way that very few teams have been able to do this season.
This dropped the model’s playoff accuracy ATS down to 57.1% and its overall accuracy to 51.8%, below the -110 breakeven number.
